Mike is a founder, CEO, and majority owner of CCW! With the company growing exponentially, he has pulled back from the day to day operations at CCW, instead focusing on the higher level corporate aspects of the business. Leaving a smart and driven partner and staff to take the helm inside the workshop. Graduating from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degrees in Literature, and Entrepreneurship from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is as a longtime Annapolis resident, and has been a successful entrepreneur, venture capitalist, marketing executive, author, and business and political consultant for more than 25 years. Launching his career while still an undergrad during the first tech boom of the 90’s, he helped launch a highly successful software company, later sold to a larger company, developing custom software packages for mid-sized companies in need. He then went on to help to create Cloudburst Broadband, one of the nation’s first wireless ISP’s (Internet Service Provider) and the precursor to public WiFi. Using the then cutting edge Israeli 802.11B technology, Cloudburst began offering high speed internet access to high rise buildings, affluent waterfront communities, and popular marinas along the East Coast, including New York City; at a time when only dial-up Internet access was available! In 2002, Mike created Tours & Crawls of Annapolis and Baltimore from the ground up. His extensive historical research formed the foundation for not only the company's tours, but also his first published book, "Haunted Annapolis: Ghosts of the Capital City". He went on to publish a second book on the history and hauntings in Baltimore, the well-received "Haunted Fells Point: Ghosts of Baltimore's Waterfront". Under Mike's leadership, Tours & Crawls has grown to become one of the nation’s leaders in the ‘Destination Entertainment’ industry, winning best tour for over 5 years in a row! During that same time period, he also created and ran Alchemy Teas, a successful international importer and purveyor of organic teas at both the wholesale and retail levels. Alchemy was later acquired by a larger retail tea company for its strong connections to and contracts with tea growers and exporters from around the world, in that company’s attempts to control the retail tea market in malls across the country. Following his foray into tea, Mike became an owner/investor in Mason’s Famous Lobsters Rolls, and went on to take ownership of the company's Rehoboth Beach, Delaware location, a popular restaurant catering to both visitors and locals alike, with a love of delicious regional New England cuisine! In addition to his work with his Rehoboth Beach location, Mike acts a Marketing Consultant to many of the other Mason’s locations across the country. With nearly two decades of professional experience in entertainment marketing, creating fun content and exciting events, recruiting and training specialists to entertain guest’s, and marketing his company’s entertainment offerings to the public, Culinary Craft Workshop was the next logical career step forward.
